Sunday, December 04, 2005Singapore maybe a small red dot, but we arent pushovers
Just read that some website is denying their access to singapore becoz of the "recent" case of the australian who tried to smuggle drugs unsuccessfully and got caught and subsequently hanged on 2nd Dec 2005 becoz of his crime.
I cant believe it. Are those admins condoning the actions of this smuggler (however pitiful he may be) or are they trying to "revolt" against the action of the Singapore government to go ahead with the execution of the criminal?
Singapore have been hanging ppl for so many years and now becoz of its some aussie that was in the wrong in the first place, Singapore should stop doing it. The webbie can die or ban us for all i care, singapore have our own laws, australia and anywhere else in the world have their own laws, we dun meddle yours, u dun come to singapore and try to meddle ours.
Yea, dun start on the "he was forced by debt into trafficking drugs". Regardless of the reason, he decided to smuggle the drugs to Singapore despite our worldwide publicity of having very tough & strict laws (does some american kid who was charged and punished in Singapore for vandalism comes to mind?), so he should be responsible for his own actions. Enuff said.
I sympathize with his family but the laws are there to be obeyed, not bent. At least, in Singapore we can go out late in the streets at night and return safe and not be restricted with a curfew. Think about it.
